The Business Clerk will be providing support to the cellular therapy coordinator office and will work as part of the interdisciplinary team within the Malignant Hematology Program. The role will include but not limited to: booking appointments in EPIC, document control, data entry into I-STAR, SOP development, ordering supplies, arranging couriers for transport of stem cells around the world, and scheduling and minute taking for patient case rounds and other departmental meetings. Understanding of Hematology/Oncology terminology is an asset.  The ideal candidate must work well in a team environment; be highly motivated, organized, self-directed and be able to respond to ever changing conditions with professionalism. 


Qualifications

1. Grade 12 or equivalent
2. Graduate of community college secretarial or office administration program or equivalent office experience
3. Medical Terminology Certificate 1 and 2 or demonstrated knowledge equivalent to the Medical Terminology Certificate 1 and 2 acquired in a different Business Clerk position, which may be subject to testing
4. Preferred recent experience with arranging couriers, data entry in I-STAR, appointment bookings in EPIC, developing SOP's, scheduling and minute taking for patient case rounds and other departmental meetings
5. Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook/MS Exchange, Meditech, , EPIC, I-STAR, Paradigm
6. Keyboarding 40 wpm, which may be subject to testing
7. Demonstrated mathematical skills related to payroll and budget documents
8. Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative, organize, establish, prioritize and meet deadlines
9. Ability to work in a high-paced environment
10. Excellent interpersonal skills, effective verbal and written communication, and ability to work within a team
11. Ability to appreciate the confidential nature of this position
12. Ability to deal with various hospital departments effectively and collaboratively
13. Ability to sit for long periods of time, repetitive reaching, repetitive bending
