As a member of the healthcare team, provides clerical, administrative or business support to patients, families and those providing service and/or care. Functions according to the job description for Business Clerks. 


Qualifications

1. Grade 12 or equivalent
2. Graduate of community college secretarial or office administration program or demonstrated current related experience
3. Keyboarding 40 wpm, which may be subject to testing
4. Demonstrated excellent computer skills in a variety of computer applications such as MS office applications, People Soft, Meditech and logistics
5. Mathematical skills related to payroll, budget and statistical documents which may be subject to testing
6. Demonstrated excellence in effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, public relations and problem-solving skills
7. Ability to set priorities and organize work accordingly
8. Ability to deal with various hospital departments effectively and collaboratively
9. Ability to appreciate the confidential nature of the position
10. Previous experience in scheduling preferred
