The Application Specialist (AS), focusing on the Cadence application is responsible for the configuration and administration of the HIS in support of end users. They will provide consultative services as well as design and develop custom software solutions using a wide variety of development tools and database technologies, ensuring that appropriate standards, education, processes, systems and structures are applied. Application Specialists impact all clinical and non-clinical processes across HHS and its partners.

The Application Specialist will be responsible for designing and validating all workflows and processes related to scheduling, registration and referrals. This includes workflows like registration, referral entry, appointment scheduling, as well as provider template design, including scheduling blocks and visit types. Working collaboratively across all centralized and decentralized registration areas. Working closely with the Ambulatory clinics to ensure proper build of referral workflows.  

Accountabilities include:
• Application Support (knowledge of data and information workflow models; identify relevant sources of data in order to assess the quality of information and draw appropriate conclusions)
• Project Management / Implementation (lead, facilitate, educate and work collaboratively with stakeholders and project team members; mitigate risk associated with project timelines & course correct; provide guidance & support to project team members
• Change Management & Communication (coach stakeholders through change process using timely, consistent messaging that’s appropriate for the audience; participate in the development of knowledge transfer plans).


Qualifications

1. Epic Cadence and/or Grand Central certification preferred
2. Possess a working knowledge of software applications and modules and a commitment to learning the processes, basic building blocks and intricacies of each application
3. Demonstrated planning, analytical and interpretative skills
4. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision, exceptional attention to detail and perform consistent work product validation.
5. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team and strong commitment to the client. Maintain a professional attitude in demanding situations
6. Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft products, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Visio, Access, Eclipse and other tools as necessary
7. Demonstrated ability to utilize initiative, vision, independent thinking and creative problem-solving abilities to implement project plans and issue resolution
8. Demonstrated proficiency in time management, ability to work effectively under time pressure to meet deadlines, balance work priorities and resolve problems in a timely manner
9. Demonstrated ability to relate and work with employees at all levels of organizations, including the most senior levels within the healthcare field
10. Demonstrated ability to effectively execute project plans with stringent timelines
11. Demonstrated understanding of the data interrelationships and dependencies among the various health information systems e.g. decision support systems, electronic health records, order entry, etc.
12. Understanding of key information technology concepts and components (e.g. networks, storage devices, operating systems, information retrieval, data warehousing, application, firewalls, interfaces etc.) and their interrelationships
13. Demonstrated commitment to continuing education, professional development and life-long learning
14. Possess and demonstrate emotional intelligence
