We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Renal Assistant to join our healthcare team in Oakville, Canada. As a Renal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to patients with kidney-related conditions.
- Assist in the setup, operation, and monitoring of dialysis equipment
- Prepare patients for dialysis treatments and monitor their vital signs throughout the procedure
- Maintain a clean and sterile environment in the dialysis unit
- Accurately record patient information and treatment details in medical records
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure optimal patient care
- Educate patients and their families about renal care and treatment procedures
- Respond promptly to patient needs and concerns during dialysis sessions
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control guidelines
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certified Dialysis Technician (CDT) certification preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in renal care or dialysis
- Strong knowledge of renal care procedures and dialysis equipment
- Understanding of kidney function and renal disorders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Proficiency in basic computer skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise protocols
- Empathetic and supportive attitude towards patients
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and assist patients as needed
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Hours: Monday to Sunday; days and nights 06:00 to 24:00, (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)
Salary: $26.50 to $27.01 per hour
