This is a superb opportunity to join our CGI-Victoria team as a Proposal Manager with experience in large enterprise environments. CGI Proposal Managers are responsible for coordinating and supporting proposal development efforts prior to, and throughout the proposal lifecycle. Working within the Western Canada Business Unit’s (WBU) Proposal Management Team (PMT), the Proposal Manager assists by coordinating, supporting, and participating in various proposal work streams, managing proposal development, authoring content, and formatting and production of final proposal documents both digital and in hardcopy.
Proposal Managers are the first point of contact for CGI members developing proposals for our clients within competitive procurement processes. As the successful candidate, you will be advising business developers on best practices for developing compelling proposals, contributing to, or authoring proposal content, and vetting submitted proposals for materials that should be included in our library of standard content.
As a member of a distributed team, each Proposal Manager is responsible for supporting their own region and our model enables us to cover absences, vacations, and prioritize client demand. Proposal Managers must be able to independently manage their own workload and be willing to share and accept tasks across the team. This role requires some flexibility due to cyclical client demand.
This role is vital to the continuing growth of CGI Western Canada Business Unit, specifically the British Columbia Region, as we generate dozens of complex proposals annually.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Manage proposals using CGI’s proposal process
• Create response framework documents for bid teams
• Schedule, participate, and lead meetings throughout the process
• Coordinate proposal content developed by teams or working groups
• Format large, complex documents within a provided standard template using Microsoft Office tools
• Proposal production including printing and binding hardcopy documents, packaging, creating digital versions for submission on USB media
• Submission of proposals using email or client-based toolsets (portals, websites, and procurement systems)
• Manipulate and create original graphics
• Content and document management using Microsoft Teams and CGI’s Ensemble platform (Microsoft SharePoint)
• Proofread documents for consistency, grammar, spelling, and punctuation
• Update and maintain standard content library of proposal elements
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Two years’ experience in a business development related role (proposal management, proposal support, inside sales, outside sales, or similar)
• Two years’ experience working with advanced functions in Microsoft technologies including:
• MS Word, such as Styles, Merge, Compare, and layout and formatting tools
• MS Teams including creation and management of teams and channels, file management, and note taking
• Considerable experience working in a client focused, team environment
• Good understanding of the information technology business
• An understanding of formalized procurement processes in both the public and private sector

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable discipline (English, Communications, Commerce/Business, Information Technology, or similar).
• Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) or similar certification desired

• Proposal Managers interact with a wide range of team members across the organization, often in a fast-paced environment. Soft skills and the ability to make decisions with some independence are critical to success.

Technical Skills:
• Strong proficiency in using current versions of the Microsoft Office toolset, primarily Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Strong proficiency in using Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
• Familiarity with Microsoft Project, Internet Explorer, Adobe Acrobat
Additional requirements (e.g. travel, shift work, on-call duty, overtime):
There may be some requirement to work overtime and irregular hours. As much notice as possible is provided and time is given in lieu.

• CGI has a hybrid work environment requiring 2-3 days of work per week in a local CGI office

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licensure and certification. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range in British Columbia is $50,000 - $85,000.
