CGI Calgary DB Services team is seeking a skilled and motivated Intermediate Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Oracle, MSSQL, and PostgreSQL, with the flexibility to work onsite for our Calgary clients.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

- Create, monitor, and administer a series of client environments consisting of Oracle, SQL, and Postgres in a variety of on-prem and cloud solutions.
- Act as an advisor to clients, recommending the most suitable database technology solutions to meet their needs.
- Experience in migrating databases and applications to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
- Coordinate changes to Oracle, MSSQL, and PostgreSQL databases.
- Frequently advise and contribute in a data engineering role, providing insights and recommendations for data management and optimization.
- Work as part of a team to provide on-call support, covering phone calls/requests from 7 am to 5 pm.
- Approve, schedule, plan, and supervise the installation and testing of new procedures and functions within the databases.
- Implement and maintain database security and encryption.
- Implement patching and upgrades for database systems to ensure data integrity and system performance.
- Provide support to internal CGI clients, ensuring efficient and effective database operations.
- Validate user requests to ensure compliance with data governance and privacy standards.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field.
- Strong command of Oracle, MSSQL, and PostgreSQL database procedures, including backup and recovery processes.
- Experience with SSIS and SSRS is highly beneficial.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Willingness to be on-call and provide support outside of regular business hours.
- Ability to occasionally work onsite for Calgary clients.
