Glenmore Christian Academy (GCA) is a private Alberta accredited Christian school located in the Southwest of Calgary, Alberta, specializing in the education of children in Grades JK-9. GCA is a member of AISCA (Association of Independent Schools and Colleges in Alberta) as well as ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International). GCA’s mission is to Teach Truth, Inspire Excellence, Experience Christ and Serve Through Love. GCA has a head of school, two principals, 3 vice principals and a staff of over 125 serving approximately 1000 students.
GCA has an opportunity for a 0.9 FTE Jr. High Art Teacher - Grades 6 to 9. Under the direction and mentorship of the Jr. High Principal, this individual will be responsible for a home room class, teaching art for grades 6 to 9, teaching other courses such as Social Studies and provide extra curricular support where required. This position is a term contract from March 19, 2026, to June 24, 2026.

Bachelor of Education
AB Permanent or Interim Certificate
Skills
Background in art education and experience with creative visual arts
Teach students using lessons, discussions, audio-visual presentations, digital delivery and field trips
Design effective strategies to meet the children’s diverse learning needs
Effective communication skills
Ability to handle confidential information
Fluent in English
Excellent English written and oral communication skills
Proven attention to detail, organizational and documenting / tracking skills, as well as analytical problem-solving abilities
