Job DescriptionThe Opportunity The successful candidate will be part of a team of engineers responsible for ensuring quality through comprehensive testing of new diagnostic software solutions for high performance compute platforms and sensors, including LiDARs, radars, cameras. You will work cross-functionally with multiple teams to quickly deliver high quality, production level code that is core to the diagnostics of autonomous and active safety systems. Core Responsibilities Manage development vehicles owned by the team ensuring they are properly updated and all testers and requesting teams are following all safety protocols and processes for vehicle handlingPreparing vehicles for required testing including but not limited to, AVSS testing, DOE testing, and feature testingExecute testing both in vehicle and on benches to support the diagnostic team across multiple domains.Supporting and overseeing vehicle and test property shipping and handling compliance including test equipment and instrumentationInterfacing with Operations, Traffic Safety, and Garage teamsSupport implementation of the new testing techniques rolled out through the diagnostic QA community. Develop automated tests for SIL and bench environments Participate in software and requirement reviews enabling testable software products Participate in test plan reviews and contribute to the team’s testing strategy Generate test reports and present results to software and requirements teams Assist with documenting standards and best practices for consumption by product development teams Assist with manual testing responsibilities, such as regression and feature testing, when tests cannot be automated Required Skills and Experience Experience with ADAS Diagnostic TestingExperience with testing in vehicles Experience designing, building and installing vehicle test configurationsFamiliarity with GM’s DVUL process and safe vehicle handlingFamiliarity with GM’s vehicle usage policies regarding saleable and development vehiclesExperience with AVSS testing setupsExperience with VehicleSpy, DPS, and VDRsExperience with SPR3+ years’ experience developing and executing test cases in various environments Experience with test automation and continuous integration tools Experience in development on Windows/Linux platforms Experience with scripting tools in Python Ability to read and review complex algorithms in C, C++, and Simulink Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment, interfacing with GM engineers globally Must be legally allowed to work in Canada and be able to travel to the US Must have a valid Canadian driver’s license Preferred Skills and Experience Experience with testing in simulated environments Experience with automotive test tools (INCA, CANoe, ControlDesk, Applied Intuition) Experience with Git, Gerrit, Bit Bucket, Jira, and Jenkins General knowledge of automotive systems (Powertrain, Chassis, Adaptive AUTOSAR, CAN/LIN communication) Experience with functional safety and ISO 26262 Experience with unified diagnostic services and ISO14229 Knowledge of active safety components, such as radars, lidars, ultrasonic sensors, etc. Education Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics, System Design) or equivalent This position is classified as a Hybrid position, meaning the successful candidate will work at our Oshawa MATT location three (3) days per week.About GMOur vision is a world with Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions and Zero Congestion and we embrace the responsibility to lead the change that will make our world better, safer and more equitable for all.Why Join Us We aspire to be the most inclusive company in the world.
