POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Garden Valley School Division invites applications for the part-time (.20 FTE) permanent position of Early Years Literacy Coordinator effective September 2, 2025. Reporting directly to the Assistant Superintendent of Programs and Curriculum, and collaborating with school Administrators and classroom teachers, the Early Years Literacy Coordinator will be tasked with leading and coordinating a K - 4 literacy action plan for the school division.
REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hold or be eligible to hold a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate
- Bachelor of Education Degree is required
- A minimum of 5 years elementary classroom experience in teaching of early years literacy
- An understanding of helping students improve their overall literacy skills
- Superior interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Ability to facilitate professional development sessions
- Ability to coach and mentor teachers and teams of teachers
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check & Child Abuse Registry Check
