The Garden Valley School Division is looking for a visionary leader to take on the role of Assistant Superintendent of Programs and Curriculum.

The Division:

Garden Valley School Division is a dynamic school division located in the heartland of Manitoba's beautiful Pembina Valley region. The division has a student population of over 4,300 across 14 schools in the communities of Winkler, Plum Coulee, Schanzenfeld, Hochfeld, Blumenfeld, Reinland, and Blumengart.

The division's largest centre, the City of Winkler, has all the amenities of a larger city within a rural setting. The community is just over a one-hour drive to Winnipeg and surrounded by abundant recreational opportunities.

The Candidate:

The Garden Valley School Division seeks an Assistant Superintendent of Programs and Curriculum with a demonstrated commitment to the Division's philosophy of education, an understanding of curriculum implementation, student achievement, programming, educational leadership and school planning. The Assistant Superintendent reports to the Superintendent/CEO.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • A minimum of five years of successful teaching experience
  • A Post-Baccalaureate in Education and/or Master of Education Degree, or be willing to work towards
  • Experience in curriculum implementation and support
  • Experience in administration/educational leadership preferred
  • Experience supporting collaborative teams focused on student achievement
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and leadership ability
