Job Summary

The Division of General Surgery at Surrey Memorial Hospital (SMH) and the Fraser Heath Authority are looking to add a general surgeon to join the group, in a 0.5 FTE allocation. It is expected that the applicant will be able to undertake a broad range of community general surgery.

SMH is a tertiary teaching hospital and Level III trauma center with a very busy Emergency Department. Surrey is the largest city by land area and second most populated in Metro Vancouver.

As a member of the Fraser Health medical staff, the General Surgeon will participate in the University of British Columbia (UBC) medical education program and is expected to apply for a clinical faculty appointment in the Division of General Surgery, UBC. Other surgical specialties include urology, orthopedics, ENT, thoracic surgery and OBGYN.

Provisional license is acceptable and supervision available for US board certified physicians, if applicable.
