Job Summary

The Fraser Health Regional Neonatal Program is hiring Clinical Associates as part of the expansion of the Surrey Memorial Hospital (SMH) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The SMH-NICU serves as one of two FH Regional Referral Centres accommodating Tertiary Neonatal care and is a key part in the regional and provincial network for level 3 and 2 newborn services.

 

Successful applicants will have (or be eligible for) an FRCPC in Pediatrics, preferably with one or more additional years of clinical training in Neonatology. Applicants should be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia. The Clinical Associate serves as an adjunct to the Neonatologists to support patient care, providing specialized care and management of neonates, particularly those who are premature or critically ill in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and in the delivery room. The care is provided under the direction and in conjunction with the Neonatologist.

 

As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, the Clinical Associate ensures a high level of professional competence. S/he provides daily clinical service as well as evening, night and weekend in-house service; s/he participates in program committees, quality improvement and safety programs, journal clubs and seminars.
