Job Description:

    Location: hybrid

    We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Manager of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) to lead our high-performing team of Specialists in Canadian Operations. This fast-paced role combines strategic supplier management with strong leadership, emphasizing team efficiency and capacity optimization. The ideal candidate excels at building and nurturing relationships, both internally and externally, and possesses exceptional change management skills to drive continuous improvement.

    What will you do?

    • Lead and inspire a high-performing team of SRM Specialists, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
    • Develop and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, internal teams, and senior management
    • Implement agile methodologies to enhance team productivity and streamline processes
    • Develop and execute innovative strategies to optimize supplier relationships and performance in a fast-paced environment
    • Negotiate strategic contracts and agreements with key suppliers to maximize value
    • Implement data-driven performance monitoring systems and spearhead improvement initiatives
    • Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure business continuity
    • Lead change management initiatives to drive adoption of new processes and technologies
    • Continuously evaluate and enhance team processes to drive efficiency and capacity
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic suppliers, fostering strong partnerships

    What do you need to succeed?

    • 5+ years of experience in supplier relationship management or related roles
    • 5+ years of proven success in leading and developing high-performing teams
    • Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization
    • Demonstrated expertise in change management methodologies and successful implementation of organizational changes
    • Proven ability to drive team efficiency and optimize capacity in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for building consensus and influencing stakeholders
    • Strong analytical skills to tackle complex issues and develop innovative solutions
    • Impressive track record of developing and maintaining strategic supplier relationships
    • Expertise in project management and process optimization
    • Proficiency in SRM software and data analysis tools for informed decision-making
    • Solid understanding of industry regulations (OSFI/B10 guidelines) and compliance requirements
    • In-depth knowledge of Third-Party Risk Management best practices in supplier management
    • PMP or CPSM designation (an asset)

    Security Clearance Requirement:

    • Must be able to obtain RCMP Reliability Security Clearance before a start date can be confirmed (includes fingerprinting).

    The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
