I am currently recruiting an Operational Buyer for one of my clients, a manufacturing company in Repentigny.
Reporting to the Purchasing and Logistics Manager, you will :
- Research, qualify and integrate new local and international suppliers
- Research and identify innovative suppliers capable of meeting technical and development needs.
- Evaluate and qualify new partners according to criteria of total cost, quality, lead time and innovation.
- Negotiate commercial terms, framework contracts and confidentiality agreements.
- Support the engineering team in new product development (R&D) projects
- Analyze short- and long-term strategic sourcing needs
- Monitor market developments, trends and technological innovations
- Participate in supplier risk management and the implementation of mitigation plans
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of sourcing processes
- Evaluate supplier performance and coordinate audits when required
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and environmental standards
Skills required:
- Minimum 5 to 7 years' experience in strategic sourcing, ideally in a manufacturing environment
- Bachelor's degree in operations management, procurement, engineering or related field
- Bilingualism required (French and English, spoken and written) to exchange with international partners
- Proficiency in IT tools (ERP, advanced Excel, cost analysis tools)
- Experience in international sourcing and contract negotiation
- Knowledge of supplier evaluation and risk management methodologies
- Understanding of R&D and supply chain issues
