I'm looking for a Customs Coordinator for a 6-month assignment (possibly with reassessment) for a manufacturing company in the Baie d'Urfé region.
Duties :
- Review and approve daily invoices related to each customs entry (CA and U.S.) as well as inter-company invoices;
- Update and verify the tariff classification database in the system on a daily basis.
- Prepare submissions and follow up on drawbacks, refunds, rulings, etc. as required;
- Carry out the annual update and complete verification of the USMCA database;
- Update and verify the Livingston portal database, adding and removing items, and updating transfer prices. - Communicate these changes to our assigned customs broker on a weekly basis;
- Manage the tariff tracker (WHSC) on a daily basis;
- Prepare and submit daily U.S. aluminum import permits, including cast/smelt traceability exercises, and communicate them to our customs broker;
- Update cast/smelt supplier files as required;
- Carry out required internal audits (CA and U.S.) and ensure necessary corrections on a weekly basis;

- Ensure the accuracy and follow-up of inter-company invoices in comparison with the customs declaration when necessary;
- Monthly review of our customs broker database (WHSC and WHSI);
- Collect tariff information and send monthly forecasts for future billing from our US customs broker to the accounting department;
- Review daily the shipping documents of our raw material suppliers;
- Prepare annual certificates of origin to ensure supplier legitimacy;
- Participate daily in the customs classification of goods (inbound and outbound);
- Verify daily the accuracy of codes related to the Harmonized System of Customs Classification (HS code) and ensure follow-up in case of inconsistencies;
- Report any anomaly or non-compliance to the Customs Compliance Specialist;
- Act as a resource person for various internal departments (purchasing, logistics, finance, estimating) to answer their technical questions as required;
Skills required:
- High school diploma (DES)
- Experience in customs compliance (CA and U.S.) an asset
- Knowledge of international transport logistics (an asset)
- Knowledge of the manufacturing industry (an asset)
- Good command of the Microsoft Office suite
- Bilingualism (French/English) is essential for dealing with internal and external international partners
