We are currently supporting an IT group in Montreal, where you will benefit from a hybrid work model, in recruiting a CPA-designated Financial Controller.

As the right hand of the Associate Vice President, your responsibilities will include:

* Supervising and managing the accounts payable department, project office, and bookkeeping (including coordinating and reviewing the quality of deliverables produced by the employees under your responsibility);
* Preparing month-end closings, financial statements for entities and consolidated groups (including intercompany transactions);
* Explaining variances, fluctuations, and statistics presented in the organization's various dashboards;
* Ensuring compliance with payment controls based on timesheets and schedules (suppliers, contractors, partners, credit cards, and expense accounts);
* Actively participating in customer service support by responding to various advisor inquiries or assigning them to the appropriate stakeholders;
* Mastering and coordinating the use of accounting systems (GP, Sifia, PBI), supervising the maintenance of the chart of accounts, cost centers, profit centers, and project configurations, and understanding the interactions between different modules and dimensions;
* Coordinating, reviewing, and analyzing updates to various month-end reports and schedules;
* Supporting other accounting sub-departments (payroll/invoicing/budgeting) as needed;
* Making a significant contribution to cross-functional projects (mergers, acquisitions, restructurings);
* Continuously improving processes, including the adoption of new technologies;
* Actively participating in internal and external audits;
* Ensuring the establishment, monitoring, and regular assessment of internal controls, and recommending improvements.

Desired Profile:

* CPA designation;
* Experience as a Controller or in a similar role (including payables, receivables, financial statements, and treasury);
* Ability to meet deadlines;
* Strong aptitude for fast-paced work and attention to detail;
* Customer service experience - a strong asset;
* Experience in bookkeeping and volume management - an asset;
* Knowledge of Great Plains - an asset;
* Ability to analyze and accurately explain financial statements with clarity and efficiency;
* Ability to manage cash flows and ensure compliance with payment policies;
* Ability to manage the month-end closing process efficiently and in a timely manner;
* Strong skills in monitoring multiple aspects of internal controls and service deliverables;
* Ability to work independently and demonstrate appropriate initiative;
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously;
* Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities effectively.
