My name is Hugo, and I'm a recruitment and business development consultant at Fed Finance, a recruitment firm specializing in the recruitment of finance professionals. I work on two types of recruitment: temporary and permanent on the island of Montreal. Our team of finance experts speak your language and work in your environment. We cover accounting, finance and payroll.
I'm looking for an Assistant Controller for my client, a company in the design and architecture sector in the West Island of Montreal (Ville St Laurent). This is a permanent position with a hybrid mode (4 days in the office and 1 day at home).
Main responsibilities:
- Month-end preparation and financial statement analyses (record adjusting entries, prepare financial statements, perform balance sheet and expense account analyses, reconciliation, etc.);
- Produce weekly and monthly sales reports;
- Produce profitability and margin analyses and reports, inventory and obsolescence reports;
- Evaluate, develop, implement or modify financial and accounting controls and procedures;
- In collaboration with the VP of Finance & Operations, participate in the preparation of budgets and other accounting, financial and operational analysis reports to facilitate decision-making (budgets by business unit, margin reports, sector sales reports, by project, etc.).
- Participate in the preparation of audit files, including analysis for auditors;
- Participate in updating ERP (SAP) and developing business processes on an ongoing basis.
Skills required:
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial management tools.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
- University degree in accounting, finance or related field.
- 3-5 years experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a similar role.
- CPA designation is an asset.
