I'm Caroline, Recruitment Consultant at Fed Finance, a recruitment consultancy specializing in the recruitment of finance professionals. I work on two types of recruitment: temporary and permanent on the South Shore of Montreal. Our team of finance experts speaks your language and operates in your world. We cover accounting, finance and payroll.
I'm looking for an Accounting Technician for my client based in Sherbrooke. This is a permanent hybrid position.
- Prepare periodic financial reports for the organization's operational activities;
- Collaborate on year-end closing work, including preparation of financial statements and coordination with external auditors for several categories of funds (general, dedicated, investments);
- Carry out account analyses, prepare the necessary accounting entries and ensure reconciliations with reference documents;
- Assume responsibility for the production of reports relating to investment projects and earmarked financial resources;
- Evaluate existing accounting processes and propose improvements to optimize operational efficiency;
- Contribute to the preparation of the annual budget in support of the finance team;
- Produce regulatory reports required by government bodies and funding agencies;
-Supervise the work of temporary or support staff assigned to the department's administrative functions;
- Collaborate with various internal departments to ensure consistency between accounting data and external declarations, and provide support where necessary;
- Participate in the implementation or enhancement of internal controls, and support the Finance Department in the implementation of strategic or technological initiatives;
- Take charge of certain financial and administrative activities related to an affiliated organization, including bookkeeping and preparation of financial statements;
- Perform any other finance-related tasks, including specific analyses or recommendations as required.
- Undergraduate degree in administration, finance or accounting;
- Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) considered a strong asset;
- At least five years' experience in a similar position, including preparation of complete financial statements;
- Advanced mastery of an integrated accounting system and Microsoft Excel;
- Solid understanding of external audit processes;
- Ability to work as part of a dynamic team and manage pressure of deadlines;
- Openness to change and ability to adapt to a constantly evolving environment;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, in French and English.
