Position: Prairies Ambassador – Registered Energy Advisor (REA)
Employment Type: Full-time (employee)
Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba (field-based; hybrid possible depending on schedule)
Travel: Primarily within Manitoba; occasional travel to other Prairie provinces may be required
Compensation: Competitive annual salary + performance-based bonus
Tools Provided: Company-provided Energy Advisor equipment, laptop, software, and required tools

We support programs and partners through EnerGuide evaluations, testing, modelling, and rigorous technical reporting—with a strong focus on quality, compliance, and professionalism.
The Role
As our Prairies Ambassador, you will represent Buildingexpert in Manitoba and help expand our presence across the Prairie region. You will deliver field services and technical work, support partner relationships, coordinate subcontractors, and contribute to business growth through networking and high-quality execution. A strong background in building science is required to confidently engage with clients, builders, and partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform blower door testing on large buildings (planning, setup, testing, documentation, and reporting)
- Complete EnerGuide evaluations for existing residential buildings and new homes
- Produce clear, accurate, and compliant technical reports
- Conduct energy modelling and complete project files in accordance with program requirements
- Represent Buildingexpert professionally with clients, partners, and stakeholders
- Support networking and partner development to strengthen Buildingexpert’s presence in Manitoba and across the Prairies
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors (planning, scheduling, quality expectations, and deliverable follow-up)
- Contribute to internal quality processes; QA/QAS experience is an asset
- Provide technical support to the team as needed
- Deliver presentations or training sessions when required
Required Qualifications
- Registered Energy Advisor (REA) with NRCan
- Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail
- Solid understanding of building science and energy-efficiency practices
- Ability to work independently with strong time-management skills
- Strong communication skills with a professional, client-focused approach
- Willingness and ability to travel for work (primarily Manitoba)
- Comfortable speaking in public for presentations or training
Assets (Nice-to-Have)
- Experience as a Quality Assurance Specialist (QA/QAS) or supporting QA/QC processes
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and multi-site activities
- Advanced proficiency with modelling/reporting software and digital workflows
- MURB certified
