What You Will Do:
- This Specialist position is focused on improving the overall reliability of the LP leak detection systems by identifying, analyzing, and addressing areas for performance improvement, while managing risk. 
- Evaluating data from multiple teams and disciplines. 
- Coordinate and present the value that Leak Detection provides in terms of both mitigating leak risks and directly impacting revenue through innovative projects. 
- Provide senior level support to the Computational Testing Program and various Leak Detection Research Initiatives. 
- Initiate and lead a multi-disciplinary Leak Detection Reliability Committee with the primary focus of improving and optimizing LP leak detection system reliability (false alarm rate and uptime) while maintaining internal sensitivity targets and compliance with industry regulations. 
- Collect, consolidate, and analyze data on leak detection system sensitivity performance. Strive for zero false alarms while focusing on uptime, false alarm rate, and segment risk and make recommendations to the CPM Maintenance team for tuning adjustments. 
- Collect, analyze and present available data to rationalize the impacting value of each LD layer. 
- Provide senior leadership and support to the LD Computational Testing program with focus on interpretation of test results. Responsibilities in this area also include troubleshooting complex technical issues, ensuring consistent quality of all test results, and general program oversight, including reporting approval. 
- Act as a key resource for LD testing (both computational and fluid withdrawal methods), project and operational management in developing and driving testing initiatives, including scorecard construction, both short and long range planning; provide significant input to long term vision and strategy. 
- Actively provides leadership and SME support to projects within industry organizations focused on evolving leak detection technology and regulations (e.g. PRCI, iPIPE, etc.). 
- Provide technical analysis, recommendations and predicted LDS performance to the Fluid Withdrawal Testing Program. 
- Investigate and research leak testing methods and identify potential opportunities for growth and improvement within the program. 
- Coordinate internal and external resources to deliver upon operational and project work, including participating and/or leading junior personnel interviews and joint industrial/academic studies. 
- Advise on regulatory responses and serve as department representative and SME for leak detection system testing and performance during audits 
Who You Are:
- A related university degree (Engineering, Business, Mathematics, or Statistics) 
- 6+ years' experience that includes 1 year directly related to computational pipeline modeling OR a minimum of 8 years of previous operations experience OR equivalent mix of formal education and experience. 
- Advanced knowledge in pipeline hydraulics. 
- Highly proficient in data analysis tools, techniques and visualization platforms. 
- Previous experience using real-time transient model software and/or statistical modeling software. 
- Robust critical thinking skills related to technical problems with ability to work independently. 
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical topics 
- Understanding of North American leak detection related regulatory requirements such as API-1130, API-1149, API-1175, CSA Z662 Annex E.

- Office environment. 
- 10-20% of travel dependent on field construction, training, and meetings.
