As part of the Technology & Information Services (TIS) Business Engagement team, you will act as an intermediary between Finance and TIS to understand strategic objectives, support capability & technology roadmap planning, and deliver high technology enablement programs by partnering with internal resources and strategic vendors to drive outcomes and enable solutions in collaboration with our stakeholders.

Please Note - This is a temporary fixed term role for 2 years.

What you will do:

Strategic & Tactical Planning:

  • Participate, coordinate, and facilitate the development of Finance Technology Roadmaps and Long-Range Planning activities.

  • Advise on technology innovation and support the business in identifying problems and opportunities where disruptive technology like Generative AI, Machine Learning, Robotic Process Automation can be beneficial and develop recommendations that provide the basis for making critical business decisions.

  • Assist in the delivery of Finance Digital Enablement programs composed of several underlying, interconnected projects, including scope definition, planning, milestones, schedule management, critical path items and interdependencies to execute the program effectively.

Relationship Building:

  • Foster and develop strategic partnerships within Finance and TIS to be a trusted advisor and advocate of business interests.

Project Management:

  • Prepare and update financials and forecasts against budgets for projects & operational support/service costing related to Finance.

  • Balance multiple scopes of work against strategy and timelines to meet project requirements and collaborate with and oversee delivery parties and partnerships (project managers, business analysts, solution architects, Business SMEs, vendors, contractors, and consultants) during all phases of the portfolio management lifecycle from delivery to committed results.

Who you are:

  • University / College Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Human Resources, Real Estate, or related discipline

  • You have minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience in a medium to large organization with exposure to a broad range of technical, strategic and functional roles while working directly with clients or customers with a delivery focus.

  • Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in Information Technology, Finance and/or a business relationship function.

  • PMP or other formal project management accreditation is an asset; COBIT certification and/or training is considered an asset.

  • Knowledge of corporate strategic planning, development and implementation of IM/IT standards and best practices

  • Act as a change agent and translate goals into practical implementation steps by communicating clearly, building trust and fostering commitment.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience with the Finance Function in a Technology Enablement Role

  • Experienced with organizational change, change management, and process improvement.

  • Experience managing multiple teams or vendors consisting of ~5-10 members each.

  • PMP certification

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
