As a member of the Corporate Risk Control Team, the Sr Advisor Corporate Risk Control is responsible for the modeling, measurement, and reporting of financial risk on a corporate consolidated basis. Working with internal financial risk and accounting groups this individual will also ensure the company’s financial derivatives satisfy internal and external financing reporting requirements.

What You Will Do:
  • Lead commodity derivative mark to market valuation - prechecks, mailout distribution, Journal Entry check, explanations, Tidal Energy commodity co-ordination, variance analysis using Power BI

  • Engage with other teams to define and execute requirements to improve stakeholder reporting, gain acceptance of improvements, and implement

  • External Financial Statement Risk Management and Financial Instruments note preparation and reconciliation to financial reporting systems

  • Audit requests - SOX, external audit requests and questions for own area

  • Credit Valuation Adjustment - system mapping maintenance and calculation

  • Financial Risk Policy and Procedures compliance

  • Trade Compliance Regulatory Submission and requirement monitoring

  • Quarterly Commodity Dealer Valuation reconciliation

  • Quarterly Commodity Hedge Accounting Testing/Regression

  • Risk system maintenance (Line of Business, Legal Entity, Portfolio)

  • Financial Planning & Analysis - liaison for improving models for reporting

  • Back-up for settlements

  • Perform foreign exchange and support interest rate Cash Flow at Risk -- Forecast, Model, Report, variance explanations

  • Generate, compile and analyze Consolidated Cash Flow at Risk (CFaR) on a monthly basis

Who You Are:Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting

  • 6+ years of directly related experience

  • Experience with energy marketing middle/back office or accounting

  • Strong financial modeling skills and data analysis techniques using Microsoft Excel, Business Intelligence apps and other automation tools

  • Solid written and oral communication skills; ability to explain financial modeling results in operational terms

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and co-ordinate with others to gather, analyze and understand unfamiliar data

  • A standout colleague with the ability to balance multiple, changing priorities

  • Self-starter and self-motivated

Preferred:
  • CFA or CPA designation

  • Experience with financial derivative markets, valuation and OpenLink/Endur risk management system

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
