The LHSC Customer Service Screener is responsible for delivering the Ideal Customer Experience, safety and comfort of customers while visiting our facilities. This role inspires confidence that Dynacare has fair, efficient and safe processes to facilitate LHSC customers navigating the waiting line, initial screening process and experiences a comfortable waiting time leading up to their collection.
The LHSC Customer Service Screener is responsible for delivering the Ideal Customer Experience, safety and comfort of customers while visiting our facilities. This role inspires confidence that Dynacare has fair, efficient and safe processes to facilitate LHSC customers navigating the waiting line, initial screening process and experiences a comfortable waiting time leading up to their collection.
Status: Contract, Full Time, 6 months (Guaranteed 32.5 hours per week)
Shift: Day Shift, Monday - Friday. 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Discipline: Laboratory and Health Services Centers

How YOU will make a difference:
- Utilize the Ideal Customer Experience model with a focus on Warm Welcome to keep everyone safe and comfortable in the line-up area, leading up to their comfortable collection
- Provide customers with a comfortable collection experience
- Active interaction with customers who are waiting outside of the LHSCs to provide information, answer questions, conduct initial screening, identify and support customers who may require additional assistance
- Manage the wait line(s) by clearly explaining the process (Net Check In customers, walk-ins), expected wait times, assisting with Net Check-In, answering questions
- Communicate ongoing line progress, attend to customer needs and questions, offer options to waiting in line
- Assist customers with checking in, demonstrate how to use Net Check In and distribute step-by-step guide on how to register online or by using the app
- Conduct initial screening process in a care and compassionate manner
- De-escalate inappropriate behaviours to ensure a safe and respectful environment
- Collect health cards and requisitions for data entry by the employee working inside the LHSC
- Ensure all visitors entering the LHSC follow proper precautionary measures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
- Enforce to Dynacare and local regulations regarding physical distancing and use of protective equipment
- Other duties as assigned to facilitate efficient LHSC operations and customer experience
What YOU bring to the role:
- Completion of secondary-school level education preferred
- Previous experience working in a healthcare environment or customer service is an asset
Technical Skills
- Intermediate computer skills - Windows environment, Microsoft Mail, Scanning, Texting
- Reading - signs, computer applications, texts, documents
Social Process Skills
- Empathy and customer-centric mindset
- Strong verbal communication skills that demonstrates courtesy, caring and discretion in difficult situations
- High level of emotional intelligence to adapt style in handling different situations
- Confidence to de-escalate difficult customer situations while demonstrating composure and customer service mindset
- Teamwork and collaboration skills with LHSC employees to achieve results in alignment with operational goals and Dynacare mission
- Effective decision-making skills by understanding the issue, considering various factors and options and taking action that is consistent with available facts, constraints and probable consequences
- Maintains focus on work tasks and productively uses time and energy when under stress
- Compliance focused Working Conditions
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- May involve working outside in various weather conditions
- Resilience in the face of dealing with high volume of customers
