The location in Montreal, (Quebec, Canada), is seeking talent to fill the position of Specialist, Benefits Canada. This job is full-time permanent.
Overview: The HR Shared Services Center's mission is to provide operational support to all human resources teams and employees. This includes employee lifecycle management, organizational management, and problem resolution, communicating effectively and exceeding customer expectations.
Reporting to the Supervisor, Pension Plans & Benefits, the CND Benefits Specialist advises and supports Domtar's various HR partners on all matters related to the administration of benefits programs, including guidelines and procedures.
This role involves collaborating with various teams, both inside and outside the organization, to manage complex cases and work on projects related to human resources information systems.
Your Challenges:
- As an expert, interpreting policies and regulations, making recommendations and ensuring implementation by determining processes and participating in various projects.
- Provide consulting services and mentorship to increase the knowledge of HR managers and partners.
- Administer annual processes, HR system updates, communication and training documents.
- Analyze more complex cases, document them and share solutions in accordance with established guidelines.
- Take a proactive approach to identifying issues related to employee benefits with a view to making continuous improvements.
- Review HRIS requirements for benefits procedures, make recommendations and work on their implementation. Develop testing strategies, coordinate and execute them, and implement changes.
- Perform various analyses.
- Provide support and collaborate with pension plans team members.
Your Skills:
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Demonstrates strong analytical and independent learning skills.
- Versatility and the ability to meet deadlines in a customer service and results-oriented work environment.
- The ability to identify complex issues and research and implement solutions to resolve them.
- Bilingual in English and French, both oral and written*.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or any other relevant discipline.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in employee benefits.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel formulas.
- Participation in HRIS implementation and knowledge of SAP is an asset.
