The location in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, is seeking talent to fill the position of Cost Accountant. This job is full-time permanent.
Responsabilities
- Perform financial reporting processes, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement close procedures, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Prepare annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Conduct costing analysis and provide guidance to Mill Management.
- Compile grade cost analysis and margin reports for Mill Management.
- Assist with special projects or assignments as needed.
- Understand journal entries, accounting flows, and operational back-office processes.
- Identify potential risks in accounts and resolve reconciling items promptly.
- Produce detailed documentation of accounting processes and associated accounting flows.
- Identify opportunities for process and internal control enhancements.
- Provide additional ad hoc analysis as required.
- Support procurement operations for the Calhoun facility.
Ideal Profile
- Undergraduate degree in Finance/Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of Cost Accounting experience.
- Experience in conducting audits and financial analysis.
- Preferably experienced in a manufacturing facility.
- SAP experience is desirable.
- Position requires strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency with the full Microsoft Suite is required.
- Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- A high level of ethical practice and safety-mindedness is essential.
