Our team is looking for a full-time Senior Associate to play a key role in our technical advisory work. In this role, you will help our clients with technical and economic analysis and provide professional advice in a wide range of projects. Our clients are companies across the energy industry including oil and gas, mining, and utilities. Responsibilities include:
• Perform technical analysis of energy projects based on area of expertise including subsurface reservoir analysis, reserve and resource estimation, mine planning, mineral asset valuation, metal accounting, economic evaluation and cash flow forecasting, and analytical modelling of existing and future investments;
• Grow your expertise in areas such as low carbon fuels and other emerging energy sources, decarbonization planning, and energy transition advisory services including understanding policy impacts on operations and investments;
• Work with colleagues from the valuation and audit teams to provide technical expertise for financial analysis of assets;
• Work collaboratively within a multi‐discipline team to ensure information is efficiently shared and work is technically competent.
• Execute project deliverables through effective project and time management and clear communication.
• Support proposal preparation through scope development and technical content to reflect the client’s needs.
The Resource Evaluation & Advisory team is a collaborative group that creates value for clients through engineering and geoscientific analysis in energy industry projects, as well as providing subject matter expertise internally for other Deloitte teams. We are a group who takes client service excellence seriously while having fun and supporting the career growth and the development of each other.
You are someone with:
• Minimum 2 years of experience in oil and gas, mining, low carbon fuels and emerging energy, or related field;
• Possess a degree in engineering in Petroleum, Mining, Oil & Gas, Chemical, Process, Mechanical, or other relevant degree;
• Registered APEGA member in good standing;
• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint;
• Strong data analysis and technical writing skills;
• Knowledge of reservoir analysis tools such as GeoScout and Value Navigator or similar software is an asset;
• Knowledge of Tableau or Power BI or similar software is an asset;
• Commitment to professional client service excellence;
• Demonstrate keen attention to detail and commitment to accuracy;
• Ability to work and communicate effectively within a team with strong interpersonal and team‐building skills;
• Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills;
• Leadership and initiative, in and out of the work environment;
The salary range for this position is $72,000 - $108,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
