SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
Person in a radiology who performs various exams and produces medical images using devices provided for the purpose of helping to achieve a medical diagnosis or for research purposes.
SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
• Assesses the clinical information in the medical prescription;
• Explains the exam to the patient in order to make sure he or she understands the process;
• Positions the patient and the machine according to the examination’s requirements;
• Chooses the tools essential to achieve the requested medical image.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
• Must have a diploma of college studies with specialization in Radio-Diagnostic Technology from a school recognized by the ministère de l'Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport;
• Must be a member of the Ordre des technologues en imagerie médicale, en radio-oncologie et en électrophysiologie médicale du Québec.
Experience:
• One year of relevant experience;
• Experience in office automation and knowledge of applications specific to medical imaging.
Knowledge and Abilities:
• Manual dexterity, good vision and hearing, acuity, attention to detail;
• Capability to adapt to a constantly evolving technology;
• Sense of accountability, analytical, and good judgment;
• Excellent critical thinking, synthesis, organizational and decision-making skills;
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Language:
• Fluent in English;
• Fluency in Cree or French is an asset.
Other:
• Able to adapt to schedule and working conditions changes as well as on-call periods;
• Autonomous Practice in obstetrical ultrasound is an asset;
• Willing to travel.
