SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
An occupational therapist assesses functional abilities, determines and implements a treatment and intervention plan, develops, restores, or maintains skills, compensates for disabilities, reduces handicapping situations, and adapts the environment to promote optimal autonomy for individuals interacting with their surroundings. They participate in clinical teaching.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
• Assess the needs for counselling follow-up for people using the Community-based addiction/wellness pilot project.
• Conduct one-on-one therapeutic sessions, as well as group sessions, within standardized procedures and processes.
• Contributes with team members in defining personalized care plans and ensure the therapeutic follow-up for the care plan portion that entails such follow-up.
• Support, inform, guide and accompany individuals and families in their journey for wellness.
• Build an understanding of the factors influencing a person recovery in reference to Cree historical events and trauma-informed care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meeting meetings
• Ensure the proper file keeping of persons served in link with CHBSSJB file management procedures
• Participate in the Pilot project evaluation activities.
• Carried out any other function related to the Community-base addiction/ wellness recovery program and at the request of the supervisor.


REQUIREMENTS
Education:
• Must hold a master's degree in occupational therapy;
• Member of the Ordre des ergothérapeutes du Québec (OEQ).

Experience:
• University diploma in academic program relevant to the function (Occupational therapist/ Social worker/ Psycho-educator).
• 3 years of work experiences in related functions will be an asset.

Knowledge and abilities:
• Experiences and/ or good knowledge of Addiction/ wellness and recovery pathways.
• Experiences and/ or good knowledge about First Nations populations of today and their history.
• Good communication skills.
• Must have good initiative skills, be dynamic and exhibit responsibility and professionalism.
• Must understand Cultural safety in services delivery and capacity to apply its principles.
• Fluent in English, and Cree and French language is an asset.

LANGUAGE
• Fluent in English;
• Fluency in Cree or French is an asset.
