Chinook’s Edge School Division invites applications, from current Chinook’s Edge Principals and Vice-Principals, for a Director of Integrated Student Supports effective the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year. Reporting to the Superintendent, the Director of Integrated Student Supports will have demonstrated excellence in all dimensions of the Leadership Quality Standard and be responsible for:



  • Supervising & Coordination of Integrated Student Support Teams

    • Response to schools needing emergent support

    • Residence rotation to help build staff capacity and support school complexity

    • Provide supervisory support to the Student Support Teams by: observe classrooms, assess student needs, revising and reviewing student plans, and providing tailored support to students, teachers, and administrators

    • Collaborate with the Integrated Student School Support Teams, administrators, teachers and Student Support Leads to address diverse student needs

  • Leads Implementation and attends CALIC (Central Alberta Low Incidence Cooperative) meetings to ensure a robust support process is continuously supported and implemented;

  • Coordinate services with Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Psychologists, managing supervision, referrals, caseloads, budgets and parent consent processes

  • Facilitate collaboration among schools, families, and external service providers to ensure holistic support for student learning and well-being

  • Oversee all Early Years (PUF) programming, including entry assessments, program development, implementation, and evaluation

  • Rehabilitation Supervision and support for Occupational Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists and Rehabilitation Therapy Assistants.

  • Supporting the development of the Student Support Leads throughout the division as well as recruitment and evaluation support alongside school administrators.

  • Studio 3 Lead Trainer

  • Collaborates with school leadership to support implementation and monitor an effective continuum of supports which includes (social emotional support and regulation,assistive technology, differentiated instruction, positive behaviour supports) for all learners. Targeted and specialized strategies or interventions for those needing specialized learning opportunities or expertise. Specialized/Individualized supports directly address individual needs (e.g., health care aides, rehabilitation services, AAC, psychology services etc.).

  • Coordinating and supporting Division Complexity Data Analysis and Collection

  • Attend to additional responsibilities as determined by the Superintendency Team.



  • The successful candidate will be a strong inclusive and instructional leader with: outstanding leadership, interpersonal, broad understanding of inclusion and complex needs service delivery and support, analytical, and organizational skills; demonstrated abilities to develop strong relationships with colleagues, students and families;

  • The candidate should be knowledgeable about current research with regards to inclusion, complex and diverse needs, trauma informed practice and meeting the needs of each learner through clear interventions, strategies and supports;

  • The successful candidate will display skill and talent for community relations including the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people and have a strong communication and response plan for supporting schools and staff.

  • The successful candidate will provide the system with expert advice on provincial policies, procedures, and guidelines related to learning supports for diverse learners. The individual will hold an effective track record of leading organizational change and can implement school and district-wide programs. This individual has demonstrated success in conflict resolution and problem-solving and has the ability to coordinate and disseminate appropriate resources and support to schools and students in a timely and effective manner.



Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of five years’ experience as a school-based administrator, and those who have completed or are working toward a Masters degree in Education, and a strong background in inclusion and diverse learning. The Director will also have additional responsibilities supporting the work of the Central Office Leadership Team and Student Services.
