About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Midstream Operations Sr. Manager, the Training Delivery Advisor’s focus is to develop and deliver training for identified learning needs within the business.

This position will support training needs assessments to evaluate strengths and weaknesses, determine training requirements that will maintain & enhance employee competency.

This role will also support the development, delivery, and sustainment of Midstream competency assurance programs for both operations & maintenance.

This position is within our Husky Midstream General Partnership group (HMGP) and located in Lloydminster, SK. and requires the successful candidate to live in the area.

What you’ll do:

Training Development & Delivery

  • Coordinate, assist, and deliver training to ensure employees have completed position specific training requirements (with a focus on Operations and Maintenance).

  • Review course content and create final knowledge checks and competency validations.

  • Conduct classroom, virtual and/or field instruction as required.

  • Partner with Supervisors to update training materials, processes, and procedures.

  • Partner with Health and Safety to ensure all training solutions comply with legislative and corporate requirements.

  • Represent Operations in evaluating and developing new training opportunities and technologies.

  • Coordinate development and execution of training with the appropriate subject matter experts and in alignment with identified learner needs.

  • Identify and develop “in business” trainers and mentors to assist in operational training.

Competency Assurance & Verification

  • Partner with current Midstream Training & Competency Assurance Advisor.

  • Support Competency assurance programs including:

    • Assessor training & on the job mentoring

    • Lead/Formal Assessor practicums

  • Ensure best practices are used site wide and proper information is passed on to the organization.

  • Perform verification (LOD1) activities as required.

Training Administration

  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling classes and/or data entry into the Learner Management System (LMS).

  • Support training tracking and KPI reporting.

Safe Operations

  • Contribute to and align to Cenovus safety culture and standards.

  • Role model and support collaborative “one team” culture.

Who you are:

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

  • Completion of a Technology diploma, trade certificate or equivalent (4th/3rd class, GPO, PFO).

  • Minimum of 5+ years related experience with preferably 3 years in the oil and gas industry.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with Stakeholders.

  • Dedicated, takes initiative, and can work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Superior troubleshooting skills, excellent organizational skills, problem solving and planning skills.

  • Demonstrates an elevated level of integrity.

  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and project management skills.

  • Demonstrated commitment to high safety standards.

  • Proficiency with computer systems and applications.

The following will be considered an asset:

  • Learning Management System proficiency

  • Adult Learning training and/or experience
