About this opportunity:
Cenovus is looking for a Senior Coordinator, Major Maintenance. Reporting to the Manager, Turnarounds Oil Sands.
The Major Maintenance Senior Coordinator is accountable for the overall planning, strategy, and readiness of a specific major maintenance events. This role leads the development of the integrated plan, ensuring alignment across all collaborators and setting the foundation for safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution.
There is an expectation that the Senior Coordinator travels to all three Oil Sands Site to support the work as required and provide support to their teams.
While this vacancy is currently at Foster Creek and Christina Lake, this posting could be used to fill vacancies at any of the three Oil Sands Operations sites (Including Sunrise, based on business need).

This is a full-time employee position working a shift rotation.
Foster Creek and Christina Lake has full-service camp facilities
Depending on your place of residence and your shift rotation, bus and/or air transportation to/from site is offered from designated departure points in select locations.
Foster Creek is serviced by flight Hubs in Calgary and Edmonton.
Christina Lake is serviced by flight Hubs in Calgary and Edmonton as well as bus transportation to site from La Corey, AB. and Lac La Biche, AB.
Sunrise
This is a full-time employee position working a shift rotation.
Sunrise is located approximately 100 km northeast of the City of Fort McMurray and is a fly in/ fly out remote camp-based position.
Cenovus will provide transportation to Sunrise from designated hubs out of Calgary and Edmonton.
At the Sunrise site, employees will be provided comfortable camp accommodations and recreational amenities.
What you’ll do:
Provide leadership, mentoring, and development opportunities to team members while developing a high-performing, collaborative work environment.
Start and lead the MM event milestone plan, assigning action owners, tracking completion, and ensuring adherence to both the milestone plan and budget allocation.
Ensure the approved worklist aligns with budget and Event Charter guidelines; engage in scope reviews with collaborators to identify and assess risks.
Lead scope validation to ensure all work is risk-assessed, justified, and approved, and confirm submitted scope is complete and ready for planning.
Support and develop risk mitigation plans to improve execution readiness; develop and approve contracting strategies.
Establish quality expectations for planning, monitor progress against achievements, and coordinate/participate in readiness audits.
Update stakeholders on event readiness and status; coordinate field execution in collaboration with major maintenance specialists.
Monitor event status including safety, critical path, schedule compliance, earned vs. burned hours, non-productive time, and cost; issue daily event reports covering safety, schedule, and cost performance.
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
Legally authorized to work in Canada.
Minimum of 12 years of leadership experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams supporting Turnaround and Maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution.
Experience in Maintenance standard processes and leading optimization and alignment initiatives.
Proven track record to plan and coordinate deliverables.
Understanding of business value as it relates to production, cost, schedule and contingency.
Understanding of both Maintenance and Operations functions as it pertains to business impacts.

As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.
For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
