About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, Husky Midstream, the Commercial & Development Specialist will lead, in alignment with Husky Midstream’s capital approval process and Project Development Model processes, the evaluation of strategic business development opportunities as well as the management of existing commercial agreements. This role is both external and internal facing and commercially focused with the objective of growing Husky Midstream’s business.

What you’ll do:

  • Proactively identify and cultivate new internal and external business development opportunities in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Lead negotiations, and development of contracts/agreements (new business and renewals), ensuring alignment with business objectives.

  • Advance new business opportunities through the Husky Midstream project development model, engaging key stakeholders throughout the process.

  • Deliver comprehensive, strategic analysis and recommendations for both emerging and existing business initiatives.

  • Communicate insights, opportunities, and recommendations effectively to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.

  • Provide inputs and guidance to asset planning, budgeting, and reporting processes

  • Facilitate alignment across the organization on risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and trade-off decisions related to commercial opportunities.

  • Utilize data-driven insights and analytics to support informed, evidence-based decision making.

  • Support the evaluation and due diligence of potential acquisition targets.

  • Mentor and guide junior commercial team members, fostering their professional growth and development.

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, or Engineering.

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including 7 years in an upstream or midstream commercial role.

  • Expertise in financial and economic modeling, decision analysis, and business proposal development.

  • Strong understanding of crude oil qualities and blending methodologies.

  • Joint venture management experience is considered an asset.
