The Specialist, Change Management is responsible for planning, developing, and executing change management activities. The role works closely with the Change Management Team, and other business units to ensure that people, process, and technology changes are prioritized, Change Management best practices are applied, and CN’s training and communication guidelines are followed to ensure adoption of the new ways of working.

Main ResponsibilitiesStakeholder Engagement and Change Preparation

·       Identify impacted stakeholders and conduct impact assessments

·       Contribute to the continuous refinement of the adoption strategy and plan, in line with identified adoption risks

·       Create risk mitigation tactics to minimize resistance

·       Coordinate change network groups

·       Identify people risks proactively to enable successful change adoption and work collaboratively to develop and implement mitigation tactics

Communications and Adoption

·       Support leadership engagement activities

·       Develop and draft strategic communication plans to support the project deliverables and the required change adoption

·       Ensure the communication plan is up to date

·       Distribute communications to internal audiences

·       Work with program teams and change network to regularly assess stakeholder readiness and measure adoption and propose mitigation plan when necessary

·       Propose change management mitigation tactics based on readiness and adoption results that would support the program objectives

Training and Performance Support

·       Conduct training assessments

·       Develop relevant training material for impacted stakeholders

·       Conduct training sessions and gather participants feedback on training opportunities

·       Ensure all the communication and engagement activities align with the training strategy

·       Measure training adoption and readiness

Working Conditions

The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure, and stress. The role requires minimal travel (10%) within North America.

RequirementsExperience

Change Management

·      3-5  years experience leading change management activities within a complex program or project

o   Experience building, leading and facilitating the execution of change management plans to support the people side of business transformations

o   Experience in delivering within large-scale transformation implementations

o   Experience in implementing people, process, and technology changes across the organization, working in partnership with business functions and leadership

o   Experience working in a unionized environment*

Education/Certification/Designation

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Behaviour, Management, Human Resources or similar field

·       Change Management Certification (PROSCI)*
