Description
The successful applicant will work in compliance with all relevant and applicable legislation and Hospital Policies and Procedures, will practice the Bluewater Health Standards of Performance Excellence and will fulfill their role within the Attendance Support Program parameters. The successful applicant will also possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and will have strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Successful completion of a Post Secondary Program preferred
• Graduate of Health Sciences Program preferred
• Obtain and maintain food handlers required
• Basic proficiency in the use of computers required
• Physical ability to meet the demands of the position required
• Knowledge of proper lifting techniques required
• Hospital supply inventory experience preferred
• Warehousing experience preferred
• Shipping and Receiving experience preferred
• Experience with electronic ordering systems preferred
• Recent experience in a related position requiring adherence to strict timelines, meeting conflicting demands and differentiating between large numbers of products required
• French Language Proficiency - preferred
• Daily visual check of all inventory and product on hand
• Monitor temperature of refrigerators and freezers
• Takes physical count of stock on hand and verifies count with inventory controls totals
• Places orders based upon PAR stock levels and order guides
• Stores and issues materials and supplies; conducts inventories; recommends modification to quotas
• Keep inventory and order guide sheets up to date
• Accepts responsibility for all goods received
• Verifies accuracy of shipments by counting, weighing, or measuring items and comparing size, weight, description, code numbers to invoice or packing slip and purchase order
• Records or reports discrepancies or damage in shipment and signs bills of lading
• Inspects items for damage or defects upon delivery
• Unpacks items received and puts in the proper storage areas using FIFO
• Uses hand truck equipment
• Uses computerized inventory and ordering systems
• Receives requests for supplies, selects stock inventory, distributes supplies to designated areas
• Deliver support cart to designated unit daily
• Communicates regularly with vendors, supervisors and manager
• Research and suggest substitutions for TOS products
• Requests sample products
• Obtains nutritional information on relevant products
• Pull items from freezer as per established production/pull sheets
• Follow-up on back-ordered items
• Maintain all storage areas: storeroom, refrigerators, freezers, shelves and floors in clean sanitary condition
• Completes continuing education requirements as necessary
• Other related duties as assigned
Selection will be made on the basis of ability, experience and qualifications as per Article 11.04 of the SEIU Collective Agreement
