Description
The successful applicant will work in compliance with all relevant and applicable legislation and Hospital Policies and Procedures, will practice the Bluewater Health Standards of Performance Excellence and will fulfill their role within the Attendance Support Program parameters. The successful applicant will also possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and will have strong attention to detail and accuracy.

-Degree from a recognized Occupational Therapy Program - required
-Registration in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario - required
-Ability to apply critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution and prioritization skills - required
-Basic proficiency in the use of computer software - MS Word, Outlook, Excel - required
-5 years clinical experience as a Registered Occupational Therapist in a hospital setting - preferred
-Completion of leadership courses and/or relevant leadership experience - preferred
-French Language Proficiency - preferred
-Assists the Manager, Rehabilitation Therapy Services with planning, developing, implementing, evaluating and revising all aspects of operation of the Occupational Therapy Department
-Assists the Professional Practice Supervisor, Rehabilitation Therapy Services and Corporate Initiatives with planning, developing, implementing, evaluating and revising Occupational Therapy standards of practice across various clinical programs where service is provided
-Supports orientation of new/returning staff and mentorship and development of Occupational Therapy staff
-Represents the Occupational Therapy Department on various Committees within the Organization
-Assesses and treats assigned patients; plans course of treatment for each patient
-Maintains treatment records and assesses the patient’s progress, adjusting treatment accordingly
-Maintains workload statistics according to the Workload Measurement System
-Assigns duties to support personnel considering individual qualifications, knowledge, skills and abilities, complexity of the client’s needs, and the degree of judgement or decision making required to perform the activity
-Participates in unit/department and Hospital Quality Improvement initiatives
-Completes continuing education requirements as necessary
-Other related duties as assigned
Successful applicant will be considered a multisite employee
Selection will be made on the basis of skill, ability, experience and qualifications as per Article 21.01 of the OPSEU Collective Agreement
