The successful applicant will work in compliance with all relevant and applicable legislation and Hospital Policies and Procedures, will practice the Bluewater Health Standards of Performance Excellence and will fulfill their role within the Attendance Support Program parameters. The successful applicant will also possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and will have strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in one of the following: Leadership, Organization Development, Adult Education, Human Resources or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent required
• Recent experience in EDI field, supporting the implementation of activities to ensure an inclusive workplace

Skill, Ability and Experience:

• Demonstrated commitment to Patient and Family Centered Care (PFCC) principles required
• Demonstrated compliance with professional ethical practices, accreditation standards, and applicable legislation required
• Strong understanding of the Ontario Human Rights Code, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act and associated equity seeking legislation, regulations, anti-racism, anti-black racism, gender, race and anti-oppression theories required
• Functional knowledge of EDII best practices required, Truth, and Reconciliation Calls to Action required
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in education, training, ability to develop curriculum and education programs (design, delivery and evaluation) preferred
• Strong understanding of population health, health equity and social determinants of health
• Demonstrated experience dealing with sensitive, contentious, confidential information with sensitivity, good judgement and discretion
• Experience with employee engagement and retention strategies
• Problem solving and critical thinking skills with a proven ability to foster a collaborative approach to decision-making
• Ability to relate to diverse age, cultural, and demographic backgrounds
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience in public speaking
• Demonstrated understanding and experience with project and change management methodologies and adult learning principles required
• Ability to deal effectively with competing and shifting priorities
• Intermediate level proficiency using Microsoft Windows Office suite required

Principal Duties:

• Supporting all activities related to fostering and achieving a culture of respect, equity, and accessibility that is free of discrimination for staff, patients, families and care partners
• Collaborating and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels (hospital staff, physicians, patients and families, health service organizations, community members etc.)
• Coordinating the work-plans for the EDII Coalition and collaborating with Indigenous Navigation team in the advancement of Indigeneity
• Other duties as required
