Reporting Relationship: This position reports directly to the Assistant Service Manager.

Job Summary:

The Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining hoists and related equipment in compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves installing and commissioning new equipment, accurately documenting work performed, identifying potential issues, and providing recommendations to customers, while maintaining a safe, organized work environment and following all company safety policies.

Key Responsibilities:

· The technician will work within the service department to perform inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on hoists and related equipment.

· Conduct hoist inspections in compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.

· Install new equipment and assist with commissioning and testing.

· Accurately document work performed, parts used, and time required using assigned work orders.

· Identify potential equipment issues and recommend corrective actions to customers.

· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

· Communicate effectively with customers while on-site.

· Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and best practices.


Qualifications:

· Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and drawings.

· Experience as a Machine Technician is an asset; however, training will be provided for the right candidate.

· Strong communication and customer service skills.

· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

· Demonstrated troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.

· Adaptable and eager to learn new technologies and systems, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.

· High attention to detail with proven time management and organizational skills.

· A valid driver’s license and own transportation to and from work are required.

· Comfortable lifting heavy equipment and working at heights, as required for hoist inspections.

· Experience with, or willingness to obtain, scissor lift, forklift, and skid steer certification.

· Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work with tools for extended periods.

· Willingness to travel and work out of town for extended periods as required.
