Your Opportunity

BDO Canada’s Management Consulting Practice is a growing national practice that supports our clients in the areas of: Strategy, Transformation, Operations, Organizational Change and Digital Strategy services.

Our Ottawa office is looking for a Senior Consultant to join our team to grow our services in the HR Transformation & Change Enablement and own the following responsibilities:

  • Work within multidisciplinary teams, including working directly with leaders in the public and private sectors

  • Deliver high-quality management consulting services in various areas, with a specific emphasis on change strategy/management, HR transformation, and organization transition. Work may also include strategy formulation, business planning, market research, product and/or service development, marketing & brand strategy, and sales process.

  • Support and sometimes lead client engagements from inception to close, using your business acumen and professional experience to generate insights and create value for BDO’s clients.

  • Work in transformational initiatives, including technology-enabled initiatives, and HRIS solutions helping clients define their overall change vision, change strategies, and plans.

  • Supporting the assessment of the change impacts of these initiatives by assisting in the following activities: conducting change impact analysis, identifying key stakeholders, assessing change readiness, analyzing, and preparing risk mitigation tactics, and identifying and managing change resistance

  • Support in facilitating workshops, webinars, and events to educate and engage change champions and create tools for clients to implement change strategies and adoption.

  • Building communication plans and artifacts for transformation initiatives

  • Articulating changes from the client’s lens through the development of journey maps, personas and defining a client’s “from-to” experience and guiding clients through their transformational journeys

  • Supporting approaches to build capabilities, including developing training strategies, training content, and plans as well as coaching/guiding clients through Train the Trainer approaches.

  • Be instrumental in advancing the HR transformation & change practices at BDO, develop marketing materials, refine methodologies, advance your skillset, and support the development of change management skills within management consulting.

  • Participate in internal industry- and service-based functional teams to progress national practices and leverage achievements across geographies

    Your experience and education

    • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline.

    • More than 2 years of experience in professional services (consulting) or comparable experience.

    • Experience in developing training collateral (videos, job aids, presentation materials, mobile training, etc.) and/or facilitating training sessions.

    • Have practical understanding of HR processes.

    • Be customer oriented.

    • Capacity for analysis and synthesis.

    • Bilingualism: the mastery of spoken and written English is an asset

    • Experience working with HRIS systems (Dayforce, Workday, etc.) is considered a strong asset

    • Professional certification (Prosci, MBA, CPA, CFA, FRM, PRM) underway or completed an asset
