Your Opportunity

Our Markham office is looking for a Senior Accountant to join the Assurance team in our China Practice. This is a replacement role and in this role, you will leverage your assurance expertise and Mandarin language skills to support Chinese-owned and China-based businesses operating in Canada and expanding globally. Our bilingual professionals help clients navigate complex accounting frameworks and regulatory requirements while bridging cultural and language differences. With a focus on audit and review engagements under ASPE and IFRS, you’ll gain exposure to private enterprises, entrepreneurial clients, and subsidiaries of global organizations, while contributing to their successful cross-border growth. In this role you will own the following responsibilities:

  • Lead and conduct audit and review engagements under ASPE and IFRS, preparing working papers and financial statements in line with firm and regulatory standards.
  • Plan and execute engagements across industries such as consumer business, manufacturing, and technology, coordinating closely with engagement teams.
  • Build trusted client relationships in both Mandarin and English, serving as the key contact throughout the engagement.
  • Supervise and review the work of juniors and intermediates, providing coaching and guidance to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Partners on proposals, presentations, and client pitches to support China Practice growth.
  • Communicate proactively with teams to ensure efficient, high-quality service delivery.

Your experience and education

  • You have completed your CPA designation (or international equivalent, CPA Ontario-eligible).
  • You bring minimum 3 years of external audit/assurance experience in public accounting, with strong knowledge of ASPE and IFRS.
  • You have experience in executing engagements from planning through completion, supervising staff, and reviewing deliverables.
  • You are fluent in Mandarin and English (verbal and written).
  • You demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, and value inclusivity, teamwork, and delivering high-quality work.

The expected range of compensation for this role is: $ 62,000 to $ 96,000
