The Team
Join our Surrey Child and Youth Mental Health Services team! We are a multi-disciplinary team working together to make a positive impact on families in the Surrey area. With a focus on person-centered care, we work collaboratively to support children, youth, and families up to age 19 through evidenced based and goal-oriented support. We collaborate with community partners to support children and youth facing mental health challenges through early intervention and long-term treatment.
Our diverse team values knowledge-sharing and mutual support, partnering closely with schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations. This team provides a welcoming and respectful environment where individuals can feel safe and supported to be able to serve the diverse families within South Fraser.

The Role
In this role, you will act as the senior clinician by providing supervision, direction, and leadership to professional staff within the Mental Health Team that may include psychologists, clinicians, social workers, and nurses. You will develop plans, manage, and evaluate the delivery of mental health services for children, youth, and families in the local community. You will collaborate and develop partnerships with local teams, community agencies, schools, hospitals, and other ministry programs while supporting your staff to provide individual, group, and family therapy. Being a vital piece of the multidisciplinary team, your work will contribute to the youth and their families feeling confident in their ability to move through change and navigate recovery. This role will provide an opportunity to work with a collaborative and passionate team to support the youth and families navigating challenges. This role offers a hybrid model that may offer the opportunity to work from home, depending on operational needs based on flexible work agreements.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• Master’s degree in social work (Clinical Specialty or equivalent training/education), Educational Counselling, Clinical Psychology, Child and Youth Care, or equivalent.
• Three (3) or more years of experience in the provision of mental health services to children, youth, and their families.
• Experience supervising a mental health team.
  

Preference may be given to applicants with following:

• Five (5) or more years of experience in the provision of mental health services to children, youth and their families.
• One (1) or more years’ experience supervising a mental health team.
• Applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.
