The Team
The North Fraser Regional Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) Integrated Practice team is an established and collaborative group made up of a Team Leader, five clinicians, and a dedicated administrative support team. Bringing together both seasoned and newer clinicians, the team works closely in the community with local families, schools, agencies, and other ministry teams to provide coordinated, family-centred mental health services that support positive outcomes for children and youth in care. Team members value the strong culture of collaboration and compassion, regularly supporting one another through case consultation and knowledge sharing.
The Role
As an Integrated Practice Clinician, you will support children, youth, and families involved with MCFD by working collaboratively with internal teams and community service providers to address complex mental health needs. Using a neurodevelopmental and trauma-informed approach, you will provide consultation, education, and coordinated treatment planning that strengthens care teams and helps create greater stability, healing, and positive outcomes for children and youth in care. This outreach-based role offers the opportunity to apply your clinical skills in flexible and meaningful ways, meeting clients where they are and travelling throughout your community and surrounding service areas to deliver responsive, family-centred support.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Masters in Counselling, Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master’s level in a similar subject may be considered.
- NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
- Minimum of one year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
- You must possess and maintain a valid B.C. Class 5 driver’s license (note - if you currently have a valid driver’s license in Canada, and if you are the successful applicant, you must acquire a valid B.C. Class 5 driver's license immediately).
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
- Two years or more experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
- Experience providing direct interventions around the trauma-based behaviours of children and youth and their care team.
- Experience providing a variety of outreach and community-based work-related activities for youth who are considered to be at high risk.
- Completion of training, certification and/or experience in trauma focus and attachment based modalities such as CCI (Complex Care Intervention), Attachment - Regulation - Competency (ARC) Framework, Neurosequeitnial model of Therapeutics, Circle of Security program and/or Connect Attachment Program (also known as Connect Parenting Program).
- Applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
There are presently two (2) regular full time positions available. One (1) in Burnaby and one (1) in Maple Ridge.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies in Burnaby, Maple Ridge, and Port moody.
These positions are also posted as a Nurse 7 (C) under REQ 124055.
