Come work for us! Community-based Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) Services provide a range of specialized mental health services. These services range from mental health promotion and mental illness prevention to early intervention, treatment and support services for infants, children and youth with mental health problems, from birth to 18 years of age, and their families/caregivers. Our dedicated CYMH staff typically includes psychologists, clinical social workers, counsellors with masters degrees, and nurses who have training and expertise in CYMH. Working in a collaborative manner with the client and/or family, staff members provide services and supports that include intake, screening and referral, assessment and planning, treatment, case management, and clinical consultation. The Infant/Early Childhood Clinician provides clinical assessment, consultation and intervention for the social, emotional and behavioral development of infants and young children within the context of their family relationships. It includes supporting secure attachment relationships; the ability to experience, manage and express the full range of emotions; and the capacity to grow, develop, learn and explore within the context of their social environments. Job Requirements: Masters in Counselling, Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Masters level in a similar subject may be considered. NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered. Minimum of one year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.(i.e. Experience relates to providing services with a focus on children and youth who experience complex mental health conditions including, but not limited to, psychotic disorders, concurrent disorders, emotional dysregulation, trauma, anxiety, depression and issues related to suicide. Practicum and/or volunteer experience with children, youth and families may be considered equivalent.) Preference may be given to applicants with the following: Two years or more experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services. Six months or more experience working with parents/caregivers and children 8 years of age and under. Training in infant/child development as well as clinical experience working with infants and young children. Currently hold or the ability to obtain a valid class 5 BC Drivers licence with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).
