Job Summary

The Team
The Provincial Court of British Columbia strives to serve the public by providing an accessible, fair, efficient and innovative system of justice. Provincial Court judges and judicial justices preside over most of the court cases in British Columbia. Sitting at nearly 90 locations throughout the Province, the Court hears criminal, family, youth, and civil claims as well as traffic and municipal by-law matters. Integrated Judicial Services supports judges and judicial justices through administrative services and scheduling to facilitate fair, timely, and accessible justice for all British Columbians. The Court’s administrative headquarters is located at the Office of the Chief Judge in downtown Vancouver.

The Role
To plan, organize and manage projects related to the implementation of new hardware, network and operating systems and support IT infrastructures and services. This position supports the acquisition and servicing of infrastructure technology products and related services, develops and establishes computer systems infrastructure technology policy, procedures and standards and provides advice and counsels to staff, judicial officers and vendors. Project deliverables will support the business applications and data resources of the judiciary and share common technology components in a secure environment. To research and evaluate technology architecture and may supervise a team of technical and professional staff.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years directly related experience includes the following:
    • Experience working in a systems administration role.
    • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting, testing, implementing software and hardware solutions.
    • Experience with all phases of project management and change management.
    • Demonstrated experience in assessing customer requirements, developing, and implementing technical and business solutions.
    • Experience conducting feasibility studies and developing technology plans and strategies to address business problems while managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Minimum of 2 years supervising a technical team.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work 2 or more days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
