Position: Co-op Student, Global Marketing
Classification: COOP LVL 1
Salary: $28.31 per hour
Status: 4-month Temporary, Co-op
Location: Vancouver, BC
Work Option: Hybrid
Flexible work options are available, subject to an approved telework agreement; Hybrid work is available for employees residing within the Vancouver, Coast and Mountains (VCM) region and enables employees to telework from their home up to 3 days a week with in office days on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Co-op Student, Global Marketing supports in the delivery of Destination BC’s brand marketing and brand strategy programs, working closely with our Global Brand Strategy and Global Integrated Marketing teams. This position provides the opportunity to gain experience across a range of projects and programs within a brand-led global marketing team, from conducting desktop research to supporting the development of annual brand plans, to project coordination and contribution on brand strategy projects and integrated brand marketing programs. In addition, Destination BC works closely with an interconnected network of tourism partners across the province, and this role will also support in the development of brand tools and training and communications materials to grow partner awareness and participation with our brands and annual brand programs.
This position requires strong organization, collaboration, written and verbal communication skills, and an understanding of best practices in marketing and communications.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assists with the planning and delivery of brand strategy and brand marketing projects, including tracking timelines, preparing documents, and organizing project materials, and reporting;
- Supports on brand research projects to inform the annual strategic brand planning process;
- Supports Internal/ External engagement by coordinating information requests, and gathering inputs;
- Supports on the development of brand tools and training for internal and external brand user groups;
- Develops communications materials to raise awareness of Destination BC’s brand marketing programs and tourism industry partner opportunities to participate;
- Assists with post-production activities including the filing of key assets (e.g. asset licenses) and the creation of visual summaries of marketing programs;
- Assists with the packaging and transfer of creative assets between Destination BC and media agencies; and
- Contribute to meetings by preparing agendas, documenting key decisions, and tracking follow‑up actions; and
- Other duties as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Currently working towards a diploma or bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, business, public relations, media studies, or a related field;
- Co-op students must be enrolled in a recognized co-operative education program at an accredited co-op institution;
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada for the duration of the co-op term;
- Requires strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks;
- Must have familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); and
- Preference for interest in developing project coordination or project management skills.
