Job Summary

The Team
Join our vibrant and growing administrative team at the Burns Lake office, where you'll be part of a small, dynamic group supporting child protection, family services, guardianship, and resource teams. Supervised by the Office Manager, this team operates in a fast-paced environment, dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the community. As a relatively new team, we offer a collaborative and supportive atmosphere where each member plays a crucial role in the effective delivery of services.

The Role
In this role, you'll assist with referrals to community agencies and other programs, support social workers with court documents, and provide crucial information to families about procedures. You'll handle telephone calls, greet visitors, and connect them with child protection workers, serving as the first point of contact for the general public. Your role is vital in shaping how the office is perceived and ensuring that the needs of children and youth are met with the highest level of service provided by MCFD. You'll be an integral part of ensuring smooth workflow and effective service delivery.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Grade 12 graduation or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of administrative support experience in an office environment.
  • Six (6) months experience working in a computerized environment using various computer applications and data bases. (For example: Microsoft Office applications including Word Excel, Outlook, Lync) for word processing, spread sheeting, data entry, email and video teleconferencing; and case management or other database applications.
  • Six (6) months experience providing quality customer or client service, carrying out duties and responding to client needs in a professional manner.
  • Six (6) months experience working independently and as a team member with a multi-disciplinary environment and with other professional staff, client, and service providers.
  • Keyboard with speed and accuracy at approximately 40 - 50 words per minute.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferences may be given to applicants with:

  • Administrative experience working with vulnerable children and families in a human/social services setting.
  • Experience using applications: Integrated Case Management (ICM) and/or Management Information Systems (MIS) computer applications.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home up to 2 days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
