The Team
The Provincial Response Operations team is an established and dedicated group of approximately 50 emergency management professionals delivering 24/7 response coordination across British Columbia. Working alongside partners such as the BC Conservation Officer Service, search and rescue teams, and other agencies, the team plays a critical role in supporting public safety and environmental protection through fast-paced, high-impact operations.
The Role
The ECC Clerk serves as a front-line contact, receiving and managing reports from the public, partners, and clients related to wildlife conflicts, environmental violations, and all-hazard incidents. This role directly supports public safety and environmental protection, offering the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work in a dynamic, around-the-clock environment with a structured shift schedule.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Grade 12 education or equivalent.
Preference may be given to applicants who have any of the following:
- Experience in a contact centre, call centre or similar fast-paced environment.
- Minimum one (1) year of administrative experience.
- Experience and/or training in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word and Excel applications.
Willingness statements:
Applicants must be willing and able to:
- Work 10-hour shifts on a 4-days-on / 4-days-off schedule that may include holidays, weekends, early mornings and evenings to maintain EMCR operational requirements.
- Work overtime and/or be placed on standby with limited notice.
- Work at alternate locations, as needed during emergencies and business disruptions, to maintain EMCR operational requirements.

About this Position:
There are up to 8 temporary vacancies available in Saanichton.
This is a temporary opportunity until 11/28/2026. This position may be extended or become permanent.
This position has full-time on-site requirements.
These positions will be scheduled to maintain operations 7 days per week across early morning, daytime and evening periods on weekdays, weekends and holidays.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
