The Team
The Child and Youth Services team within the Public Guardian and Trustee (PGT) is an established, close‑knit group of 9 Administrative Assistants who report to an Administrative Team Lead and work closely with Guardianship and Trust Officers. As an administrative assistant, you’ll be part of a highly supportive and inclusive team that values collaboration, respect, and diverse perspectives while helping to support some of the most vulnerable children and youth in British Columbia. Together, the team plays an important role in ensuring equitable access to legal, financial, and healthcare decision‑making support.
The Role
As an Administrative Assistant, this role provides essential administrative support that helps ensure children and youth across British Columbia receive the legal, financial, and healthcare decisions they need. Your work directly supports some of the province’s most vulnerable individuals, making a real difference every day through care, accuracy, and compassion. Candidates are often inspired by the organization’s strong public‑service mandate and commitment to equity, inclusion, and meaningful impact.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED)
- Experience providing customer or client service, carrying out legal, administrative and/or financial duties and responding to client needs in a professional manner in an office setting.
- Preference may be given to candidates with 1 or more years of experience.
- Experience using Microsoft office products.
- Experience with data entry.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Experience working directly or in person with vulnerable populations (e.g. vulnerable adults, persons with disabilities, children, heirs and beneficiaries and individuals with language, behavioural and/or cognitive barriers).
- Completed Office Administration courses
- Applicants who self‐identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit.

About this Position:
This position is based in Vancouver.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future part-time and full-time temporary and permanent vacancies.
Enhanced Security Screening will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
