Job Summary

The Team
The Centralized Services Hub (CSH) is an established, specialized team that supports MCFD’s child safety mandate by providing centralized screening and administrative coordination for prospective kinship, foster, and adoption caregivers, as well as employees of ministry-contracted agencies across British Columbia. As part of a dedicated team of Team Assistants, Team Leaders, Office Managers, and SPOAs, you will contribute to processes that help promote the safety and well-being of children and youth throughout the province. The Role
As a Team Assistant, you will conduct screening activities for prospective caregivers and agency-contracted employees, helping ensure processes are completed accurately and efficiently. You will support district offices across the province by coordinating screening requests and providing timely administrative services that contribute to informed decision-making. Through your work, you will help promote the safety, care, and well-being of children and youth while supporting inclusive, responsive services for the diverse families and communities we serve.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Certificate or coursework and 6 months related experience; OR
  • Secondary School graduation (Dogwood, GED) and 6 months related experience; OR
  • Evergreen and 1 year related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Related Experience includes:

  • Six months experience working in a computerized environment using various computer applications and data bases. (For example: Microsoft Office applications including Word Excel, Outlook) for word processing, spread sheeting, data entry, email and video teleconferencing; and case management or other database applications.
  • Experience providing quality customer or client service, carrying out duties and responding to client needs in a professional manner.
  • Experience working independently and as a team member with a multi-disciplinary environment and with other professional staff, client, and service providers.

Preferences

  • Preference may be given to applicants with administrative experience working with vulnerable children and families in a human/social services setting.
  • Preference may be given to applicants with experience using MCFD applications: Integrated Case Management (ICM) and/or Management Information Systems (MIS) computer applications.
  • Preference may be given for completion of an Administrative Business Skills course or program as experience equivalency.

About this Position:
This position is based out of Victoria.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and/or permanent vacancies in Victoria and Vancouver.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to three (3) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
