Job Summary

The Team
The Assistant Deputy Attorney General (ADAG) Support Team is an established and highly collaborative group made up of the Manager, Executive Operations; the Executive Administrative Assistant; the Senior Legal Assistant; and the Legal Assistant, working together to provide administrative and legal support to the Office of the ADAG. The team supports legal counsel in delivering effective and efficient legal services to government ministries, Cabinet, the Premier’s Office, and broader public‑sector organizations, benefiting from the diverse perspectives, expertise, and continual learning shared among team members.

The Role
The Senior Legal Assistant (SLA) provides high‑level legal and administrative support to the Office of the ADAG, including case file management, legal document preparation, research, scheduling, and mentorship to Legal Assistants, all while ensuring efficient service delivery for internal government clients. Reporting to the Manager, Executive Operations, this role offers the opportunity to work in a fast‑paced executive legal office and to further develop advanced legal support skills in a dynamic, high‑profile environment.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent;
  • Completion of a Legal Assistant certificate or equivalent;
  • Minimum three (3) years of current experience as a legal assistant.
  • Combination of related education and experience may be considered.


Preference may be given to applicants who have the following:

  • Applicants with Four (4) years or more experience working as a legal assistant.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established for future temporary and/or permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
