The Board is currently seeking energetic, compassionate, and student-focused Casual Food Services Technicians to support and work alongside Teaching Staff in Secondary School Food Service programs.

These are on-call positions that would serve as substitutes for school-based Food Service Technicians for daily, short-term or long-term placements, when required. The position involves assisting students with the preparation, cooking and serving of meals while maintaining a high level of cleanliness in the food preparation area. The work also involves the control and handling of cash receipts from the sale of meals and balancing of accounts.

Skills, Qualifications and Education Requirements

Grade 12 education or equivalent, supplemented by courses in quantity cooking;

1-2 years of experience in commercial or institutional food preparation and service;

Demonstrated ability to work well with students as well as colleagues;

Strong knowledge and commitment to food safety and sanitation;

Valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle for travel within the jurisdiction.

Provision of a satisfactory Police Clearance including a Vulnerable Sector Police Check from the last 6 months (or ability to obtain one) is a condition of employment.
